Trifkovic on Belarus May 9, 2001

Misrata, Libya is the original home of the Anti-Qaddafi Misurata tribe which is getting sandwiched between Tripoli and Qaddafi’s hometown of Sirt. Without NATO assistance on a large scale, Misrata may be the Alamo of the Libyan rebels cut off from their eastern Libya stronghold.

Damascus University, the Harvard of Syria, is experiencing growing demonstrations. Assad sees the protests as an Israeli plot. There is affirmative action for Assad’s Alawites at the University.

The bombing in the Minsk subway in Belarus is ruled an act of terrorism. The US State Department calls Belarus the last dictatorship in Europe. In a contrary opinion Dr. Srdja Trifkovic has written an article entitled “Belarus: Still No Country For Sold Men.” The KGB, state security of Belarus has arrested suspects. There are nine mosques in Belarus and the George Soros funded liberal opposition was shut down by the government of President Lukashenko.
