Naksa Day massacre 14 dead on Golan Heights border

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak who was not ready for the Nakba day protests was ready for the Naksa day protests. Syrian TV and the Jerusalem Post report 14 killed on the Syrian-Israeli border. For the Palestinians, June 5 is known as a setback as they lost control of the Arab Quarter of Jerusalem.

A minority of Golan Druze prefer Israeli citizenship, the majority continue to see themselves as Syrian citizens.
